Research shows that guys who have sex with guys are still being hit hard by HIV. Crystal use may play a role in the ongoing infections. For negative guys, crystal use is associated with a higher risk of getting HIV and for positive guys, it makes sticking to a regimen of HIV meds hard.
project rewards is a confidential, new program run by the University of Washington in Seattle for HIV-negative AND HIV-positive guys who use crystal and have sex with men. The goal of the project is see whether rewarding men for not using crystal helps them to slow down, cut back, or give up crystal for good.
